http://tdk-europe.com/cyclone/uk/support/upgrading/cyclone321040.html

click on the "Firmware upgrade" link and you will download firmware 3.41 . I used it on my American TDk VeloCD 32x which originally had firmware DF41 (which sounds liek beta firmware since it had letters in it ) and this new 3.41 firmware works good . It comes with winflash 2.70 you should download 2.71E here http://www.sannet.ne.jp/BURN-Proof/product/notice-flash-bp15.html and use that instead . It should work on all sanyo based 32x recorders .

Just in case anyone here is interested the Sanyo bp1500 firmware works with the TDK 24x10x40x drive which is the same drive. They are up to 6.38 now and the TDK is still using 6.36.
I used it on my TDK and it went fine, didn't seem to change much but it claims to add more media to the burning support.
I ran it with the windows flash program that came with the upgrade under XP no problems.
It on that same site above under the BP1500 description.

I'm just cannot find the device in the flash program in XP, so I can't flash it. I'm connecting it to a Abit KT7-Raid using secondary master at south brigde. Disabled HighPoint chip and secondary slave DVD-Rom still can't work.

Any idea to solve it?

Try to disable DMA at Yamaha 3200E before installing firmware

Thanks anyway!
I still can't update it but I feel good with firmware from the writer.

On the cdr-info main page there is new 4.39 firmware for sanyo bp1600 32x . In the zip file it comes with new winflash 2.72 which is not even on sanyo's site yet . I tried updating my tdk 32x with all this (which is internally same thing as sanyo 32x) . BUt the winflash 2.72 said I had the wrong drive (because drive id is tdk not sanyo) so I just went to sanyo's site http://www.sannet.ne.jp/BURN-Proof/product/notice-flash-bp15.html and uses the winflash 2.71 along with the 4.39 .bin firmware file and then it worked. My drive still works good .

Hmm...The firmware is un-official. Maybe that causes that

Either that or sanyo decide to make new winflash 2.72 and higher check drive ID whereas before they didnt care. I'll be keeping a copy of winflash 2.71 stored.
