Hi,

I have been trying without success to upgrade my CRX-175e sony cd-rw drive , I keep getting the error no updateable drive found ?????????????????

It is set as a mater on IDE 1 have tried it as master on IDE 2 also tried to do it on my WIN Me box as a master on IDE 1 same error always.

I downloaded it a couple of time from the link on this site. Iam running Win XP Pro.

Could someone please shed som light on how I upgrade this as there is no read me with it and it cant be done thru does as the installer works thru windows.

Maybe try to remove DMA from the drive, reboot, try upgrade, reboot and re-enable DMA

i have the same problem UltrA does, I wanna know how to disable DMA? I cant find the setting in the device manager in WinXP. Please help, thanks for your time.

ok, n/m i figured out how to enable/disable DMA, but it doesnt help. I've also left the drive open but with no luck to get it to update. I need help please. Thanks

Anyone else with this burner get this working?

Just got my CRX-175E & was happy to see a firmware upgrade available; one problem - it doesn't work!

Someone must know why - is it related to the hardware version?

I'm in the same situation. I downloaded the firmwareupdate, but with no result. There is no drive to update.

I had to turn off dma in windows98
and then my pioneer dvd-116 worked normally
Now I have installed WindowsXP pro and I can't find how to disable dma
plz help me!

Here is the Firware update for ALL Sony CRX-175 drives. It doesnt matter if it is an A or an E or what version of firware you have.
