Willow_spy1967 -> SLi Or Crossfire? Interchangeable? (1/18/2008 5:47:36 PM)

Hi, I'm Wayne and just joined the site. Hope someone can help with this question but unfortunately I think I already know the answer.
My question is this: I have a Gigabyte Motherboard S-Series GA-M57SLI-S4. I installed an ATI Radeon 2600 HD XT 256MB in and all was well and good. I wanted to go crossfire and brought another card exactly the same to do so but it doesn't detect it. Is this because it's trying to do Crossfire in an SLi Motherboard? I should have researched this I know but just assumed that because it had 2 PCIe slots it would work. Will this mean I'll have to buy a new MB to get this to work with my cards or is there some way round it? I think I already know the answer as I said but am hoping there is some sort of workaround.
