I have a laptop Amilo 1000[something] a pretty new model with Sempron 3000+ CPU... but it seems to be heating up pretty quickly.. is there anything i could do?

You should try to use power management software to lower the working speeds of your laptop. Alternative there are several products to cool down laptops
