oak -> Need serious help!!!! (5/21/2006 12:32:04 AM)

Not sure if I am posting this in the right section, so forgive me please as i am new here!
I have been burning DVD's for 6 months now with no problems what so ever. I have been copying DVD's of my friends and families!
I use DVD-SHRINK3.2 with Nero and also DVD-FAB and have also used DVD DECRYPTER. Now all of a sudden after burning dang near 200 movies, I cant do it anymore...
I put the movie in, it decodes and encodes or whatever the heck it has to do, then I put the blank in. It gets past 50% of the actual burn, then pops up an error for me! [:@]
On the 4 pages of error message that I printed out, the only place I read ERROR is... Sense Key: 0x03(KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)

I am not totally computer illiterate, but not a super genius by any means... If someone can help me out with this I would appreciate it greatly!
I will provide any other info that I can to help the process!
Thanks in advance!

What is the burner? Try a more recent firmware or a different media brand...if still the same then something's wrong with your burner.

My burner is a HP DVD Writer 540b
Thanks for the reply, but as I stated (Im a bit computer illiterate)
What do you mean by new firmware?
And as for a new media brand... If that means new disc, I have tried 3 brands!
Thanks for any and all help!

How does the system identifies the burner...the exact name.
If you have tried three different brands of media then only a new firmware might help you. The firmware is something  the drive's internal software, this tell the drive what to do and how. This also include the media ID codes from the discs. Most times a newer firmware adds more media.
