I have upgraded to ver 4.0.5.6 but my problem still persists. I am not able to format the media.
"Error writing the disc in H:\ Please confirm that the disc is compatible with the drive and is not scratched or damaged"

Intel P4 2.4Ghz, DFI Mobo, 512MB DDR, LiteON 52246S, DVD LTD 166S

Have you tried different Brands of Media [?]

Unfortunately, this is the only media available. However, the same media works with earlier version of INCD (3.x). Also, the same media works with 4.0.1.21 o another machine with different specs.

First of all kill the incd processes that are running incase you have enabled the incd autorun
Try to perfomat a normal format to the disc with nero
Then launch the incd again and perform an incd full format.Take notice on the option so the mrw-format is not checket.
Also be aware to disable the build-in imapi cd-burning service
That worked for me [:)]

i don't have incd installed on my pc now but i think there are two processes the incd and the incdserv.
These are running in case you have inable the autostart option on incd

Well the first thing I would suggest is that you Open Nero and fully Erase the disk and then see if it will format !!! [:)]
By the Way what version of Windows are you using [?]
If you are using Windows XP I suggest you disable the Built in Burning program !!! [:)]

I am using XP Pro SP1. The built-in burning program is disabled.

And I did a full format too. Did not help.

I did not ask you to do a full Format I asked you to Open Nero Burning and do a Full Erase then do a full Format there is a difference !!!
And if that dosen't work I suggest you use some different Media that is the only option left !!! [:)]

Laffin Assassin, I did a full erase and then I tried to do a full format.
And why would this media not work?

The same media works on another machine, though AMD based, and Incd ver 4.0.1.21.
And the same media worked on the machine I am facing the problem but with Incd version was 3.x
