Clint -> Win XP Pro Drive Problem (6/19/2005 4:19:10 AM)

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered the same problem as myself? As follows: On my second (backup) system running Windows XP Pro SP2 all latest updates to all apps/drivers/BIOS/firmware where applicable, apon insertion of physical media (be it CD/DVD) Windows Explorer sometimes does not detect the media, whereas application software can still see the contents, which means I cannot view the disc, only extract its contents etc... Drives are JLMS XJ-HD166S and PLEXTOR PX-712A both newest revisions. I beleive Norton AntiVirus 2005 has something to do with this, but works fine on primary system. Have tried letting Windows re-install both drives but to no avail. There must be a driver of some sort that occasionally conflicts? Specs of the system in question are: ____________________ Intel Pentium III ~733MHz 384MB PC-133 SD-RAM (CL-2) IBM 2178 Mainboard with VIA Apollo Pro 133A System chipset (****) 180GB IBM Deskstar 180GXP 7200rpm 8MB FDB HDD SoundBlaster Audigy 2 6.1 Leadtek nVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 500 128MB DDR2-RAM ____________________ All latest software. I'm quite puzzled, and have quite a lot of stuff on that system to consider a format at this stage [:@] Any insights are indeed welcome, cheers guys!
