IMAPI cd burning service is disabled, however, i can't format CD-RW in my recorder (Ricoh MP7163-A, firmware br08).

I always receive this error message :
Error writing to the disc in drive I:\. Please confirm that the disc is compatible with the drive and is not scratched or damaged.

This is my error log files

Not so poor ;)

We do not have a Ricoh MP7163-A in our test labs but I have found an OEM based on the same hardware - currently in test.

Bad news: I am unable to reproduce. With my OEM model format works fine. I will see if it is possible to get exactly this Ricoh model with Ricoh fw. :-/

I sent in an email to techsupport@nero.com about the same problem with my Ricoh RW9200 and just wanted to find out if this posting will address that problem as well? The email would have been from a Brian Palmer (bcpalmer@sbcglobal.net). Thanks so much for your time and team's efforts.

Yes this is the good address to report problems with Ahead products, including InCD 4.

I am not 100% sure it is exactly the same issue as the RW9200 model is a combi-drive beside MP7163 which is a cd-recorder only. But I will try to find a RW92000.

Btw, MP7163-A seems impossible to find nowadays. Too old :-( I hope that if I can do something for RW9200 it will also help for MP7163.

I've additional informations for you [;)]

In the windows event log, i've this error :

ID event : 9, source : atapi

the device \Device\Ide\IdePort1 did not respond within the timeout period

Hum, looks like the problem I've seen with Philips CDRW2412A not long ago. Can you try with InCD 4.0.1.21? If InCD 4.0.1.21 work, then I have an idea what went wrong and how it could be fixed.

Yes, i've tried incd 4.0.1.21 and i can format CD-RWs [:)]

But i can burn file on it [:(]
In properties->Incd, i've this message :
media type : CD-R
UDF v1.50
This device cannot write the media actually insered. For writting, please choose compatible media and/or a device able to record
