amazingm -> Cannot format CDRWs with InCD 4.0.5.03 (9/2/2003 8:14:11 PM)

[:(] I even disabled Imapi CD Burning in Services and still cannot format. I get the following error:
Error writing to the disc. Please confirm that the disc is compatible with the drive and is not scratched or damaged.

I did not have this problem with InCD 4.0.1.21 (I just couldn't run chkdsk [:D]).

I am working on it but this seems a difficult case:

- The device accept only mmc-1 form format unit command
- Starting mmc-4, mmc-1 form format unit command is obsolete and should not be used
- There is no report from device about they mmc level support
- This Philips device support some mmc-2 command like feature reporting - I do not understand then why it absolutely wants mmc-1 form of format unit commands

So far I have not find how to handle this in a generic way.

Are you saying that I will not be able to use this version of InCD with my current CDWR drive? [:(]

Should I just uninstall InCD 4 and reinstall 3.5? Can InCD 3.5 work with Nero 6 or do I also have to downgrade back to Nero 5.5?

I said that I didn't find a solution, yet. But today, by assuming that strict mmc-4 device will all support Dvd-Read, and that only device not supporting Dvd-Read will not support mmc-2 (or more) format unit style, well, it looks like the problem can be worked around.

So you will not be able to use 4.0.5.3 on your cd-recorder, but we are preparing a new update that will also fix this issue.
