Stuff I use often: GNU Privacy Guard (OpenPGP encryption) - http://www.gnupg.org/ Part of the job to be the "Key Master" or so I'm called, but I also have a little paranoia in me about data security and privacy.... OpenOffice.org - http://www.openoffice.org/ Looking forward to 2.0 - Great alternative to MS Office for occasional home use. dBpowerAMP Music Converter - http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ Someone here turned me on to this... Thanks, it rocks!!! Mozilla Firefox/Thunderbird - http://www.mozilla.org/ I'm sick of IE and love tabbed browsing! Apple iTunes What can I say, excellent selection, but I do hope Yahoo Music takes off. I'm all for $60.00 a year for tuneage! Lavasoft AD-AWARE/SpyBot/NAI Stinger Can never be to secure. I sometimes have a use DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink. Also, used to use MusicMatch and have had nothing but trouble with it on my Asus A8N-SLI w/ 3500+ CPU. Very unstable. Wonder if Yahoo is bringing it to end of life now that they are pushing Yahoo Music. Though it's not really free, PlexTools is pretty damn useful as well as the nVIDIA ACTIVE ARMOR Firewall for the nForce4. I use a lot of other stuff too, but it's not free (i.e. WinRAR, PKZIP CLI, GlobalScape CuteFTP Pro, Nero, CDRWIN/DAO32, NoteTab Pro, DVDInfoPro -- They are all worth the dough).
