No. I am not doing straight from disc to disc. I am putting them on my hard drive first so I can use DVD Shrink to remove the early parts of the DVD so it goes right into the movie itself. What kind of DVD player do people recommend these days for stand alone? I have a Toshiba from about 4 years ago.

Good point fileboxI'm not copying from disc to disc because I want to view the results first, so I copy to harddrive or image drive. However the rom drive I,m using is pretty old. Thanks for the input.

Shmrck, I am using DVD Shrink also and I'm wondering if maybe to much compression on some of the longer movies maybe a problem. Also to much editing can cause audio to video sync. problems which can cause stuttering and lock ups. It would be nice to hear from some of the copying/editing gurus concerning this

Well if what you say is true, that would be exactly the problem. I am curious to hear as well now.

Sorry, can't help you there. I only use internal dvd drives. Have you done a 'search' for information on standalone DVD players in these forums? That might help
