In your measurments about 3t pit and land jitter, you speak about a "35 ns limit". What's this limit ? Is it a specification, or a recommendation ?
Are the CDR with more jitter out of spec ?

According to the RED book, the standards for Jitter is <35ns for both Pit/Land. Any disc that exceeds the 35ns limit will produce side effects to the playback player. Values above 35ns have exponential effects according to engineers (skipping, noise, focus problems, tracking problem, etc...).

Now, as you may have seen many CD-R media with 48X/52X speeds exceed the 35ns limit, especially at the outer limits of the disc. That is not according to the specs so you can say that those discs are suspicious to cause problems to some players.

In cases you measure the jitter with specific media, such as the Taiyo Yuden 40X in the CDRInfo reviews, you have a standard reference to judge the writing quality of each drive you test. When you measure jitter in different media, then you should have in mind that jitter is also introduced by the kind of the media and not only by the drive.
