Hi,

I copied an audio CD using Yamaha F1 CDWR but I can not play on my stand alone audio CDP :(
Media is TDK and speed was 4x AAM.
Does this problem concern also writing quality or is it something else ?

BTW: I've copied the same CD/media/speed with Teac 524 and it works w/o problem ?
What does this mean ? (That teac writing quality is better than Yamaha ?)

Where are the reasons that some CDs writen on some CDRW can not be played on stand alone CDP ?

Regards
Boc

Hi John,

Yes, I am using latest SW (Nero). I've tried with EAC also but result is the same. :(
The problem disappear if I burn a CD with 1x speed (best speed detected by Yamaha for the same CD is 8x).
It seems that TEAC burns CDs with more powerful beam.
I chacked CD with different SW and different CD drivers (Pioneer, Samsung ,,,) and I didn't find any error on CD.

How this can be checked with the SW ?

I've tried also with other types of media and best result is from "no name" CDs. Yamaha burns them with lower speed and my audio CDP plays them w/o problem. But I've chcked them for erros and found a couple of them.

BTW: problme with audio CDP is not that it can not play music at all bur just going from one song to another. It seems that it can not find the beginning of the song.

Any idea/help/hint about this problem (background) is more than welcome.

IMHO, it's just a bad media, like we can see everyday. Use another brand of CDR.
TDK can be made by Tayo Yuden (very good), Ritek (good), TDK (very bad (80 gold) to good (other models)), CMC (varies from very bad to good), so you can't be sure of what you get.
