Well, HS CD-RW should work - the device capabilities are 4x DVD+R/RW 16x CD-R 10x CD-RW 24x CD reading. But ultra-speed (US) and ultra-speed plus (US+) will not work.

As the model on which the Toshiba is based do work with InCD 4 (it is included in our standard qualification tests), I suggest to try a fw upgrade to start.

If it still fails with new fw, please provide me log files and infotool.txt for review.

This (huge) link:

http://sdd.toshiba.com/cda/main.aspx?Path=/818200000007000000010000659800001516/8182000004ef000000010000659c00000d63/818200000911000000010000659c00001e88

Tells us:

"8X DVD-/+R Write
4X DVD-/+RW Write
12X DVD-ROM Read
32X CD-R Write
10X CD-RW Write HS
40X CD-ROM Read"

So my original post was indeed not accurate. Still, HS CD-RW should work, US CD-RW and higher should not.

But well, that does not matter much as Yan tried with HS CD-RW and for him it failed.

As said: "I suggest to try a fw upgrade to start.

If it still fails with new fw, please provide me log files and infotool.txt for review."

Maybe there is no fw upgrade available yet? Can you then give the log files and infotool.txt for analysis?

The log files are described in "InCD 4 - FAQ.html" in the installation folder of InCD 4.

More exactly:

"- error.log in the installation path (all OSes)
- srverror.log in the installation path (WindowsNT4/2000/XP)
- \windows\InCD\incderr.log (Windows95B/98/ME)
- \windows\incdpass.log (Windows95B/98/ME). This file might have a size of zero bytes or not even exist. "

Btw, notice that infotools.txt contains your serial number at the beginning, please remove it if posting the infotool.txt in the forum. ;-)

I formatted CD-RW HS in other drive (CD-Writer) and inserted to my drive.
Result: The InCD have "!" sign.

From the log files, it looks like the fw has a defect:

"Not writable by InCD: In disc info, disc status is 0 (empty)."

After low level (physical) format, the disc status shall not be 0.

I would like to get this device in test and verify this on bus trace log files, however this is not possible while preparing stuff for the osta udf plugfest next week. :-/

But it is oK ! becouse format the InCD cannot do , so disc's isn't formatted ,
The problem is the InCD cannot format and cannot read formatted discs.
I again will send you logs file , that copy after i was insert to the drive formatted disc on other cd-writer.

Yan, if the device reports the formatted disc as empty, InCD will not read it (because there is no crystal ball telling it that the reported-as-empty media is in fact formatted ;-)). If the device reports the disc as empty just after a physical format operation completed, InCD will assume that the format failed and that it is not able to write initial filesystem information.

In both cases, it looks like the device does not conform to mmc specifications (but as said "I would like to get this device in test and verify this on bus trace log files"). Such conformity is a minimum requirement of InCD to work. Do you understand?
