I've only seen the mentioned jumpers on Lite-On LTR-16101B, LTR-12101B and LTR-0841 and of course writers based on these Lite-On models(memorex and some creative...maybe some others).

yeah what to do in case of my LiteOn 24102B CDRW drive?

it has 6 weird pins on the left of the drive not on the right....and that is SIX!

they need to update that pic for both kinds of CDRWs

Intel Pentium IV (Northwood) 1.6A @ 2.4 GHz. (600 FSB)
Hercules 3D Prophet III Titanium 500 @ 250/550 MHz.
ABIT TH7II Motherboard @ 150 FSB
Samsung 512 MB PC-800 RDRAM @ 900 MHz.
LiteOn 16X DVD
LiteOn 24X CD-RW

Well, if you already flashed the drive and screwed it up or is not workign properly, just go for it!

If it has 6 jumpers, try the lower-most two pins, and then work your way up I guess....

Hey! It can't hurt anymore! :)

If you had a PLEXTOR and if it was within the warranty period and if you were updating with theyr program and firmware you could just send it to plextor and they would repair it for FREE !!
that's why i like plextor, rock solid drives ans an excelent support

You ALLWAYS get what you pay for !!!

For the 24102b and above, and some lower ------02b Liteon's also using the MediaTek chipset, there is a very efficient DOS flasher - look for (often transposed) MTKFLASH or MKTFLASH

Jumper twiddling should not be needed!

See the CDREAKS Liteon Forum for standing info on this

You get the same with other manufactures too. I've seen that with Iwill, NEC, Abit, TDK, TEAC. So why pay more. I couldn't tell you about LiteOn because I never had one go bad from a flash or bad period. Maybe their just that good, thats why I recommend and sell LiteOn. Just my two cents.
