Hello,

A friend of mine wanted to upgrade his firmware, but it disapeard from Lite-On's website. (??????) Does anyone know why it's gone and are there upgraders who have(n't) got problems with this new firmware???

They removed it from their site because it caused more problems than it fixed.

I could mail it to you anyway if you want it.

For two weeks I have installed the LS3G23 firmware on my 12101B and it caused problem ...

Is there any way do flash back to the older firmware ???

The firmware LS3822 says "Newer firmware installed"

Hello,

YES!!! use the flashprogram for dos an LS17.bin (see overclocking in main site)

It works

First i flashed from LS3G to LS17, then to LS22 (with LS3822.EXE)

Then i found another flash LS36 and flash finally to LS38 (with LS3822.EXE)

What are the differents between LS17-LS22-LS23 and LS36-LS38-LS3G ???

The orginal firmware was LS38 ...

LS17 = LS31
LS22 = LS38
LS23 = LS3G

I had flashed the firmware to LS3G.
Till now I haven't seen any problem?
Could anyone here tell me what is the problem?
My PC configuration:
850MHz Duron
MSI KT7 Pro2-A motherboard
256MB SDRam
MSI GeForce2MX (MS-8818) VGA card
Sound Blaster Live! Value sound card

LTR 12101B with LS3D might be manufactured recently,when i got my LTR 12101B, it is firmware is LS31.

Ya, my 12101B with firmware LS3D was manufactured on June 2001.
I bought the drive in Malaysia.
The drive works well also after I flashed to LS3G23.
I am using Easy CD Creator and CloneCD.

Hello, guys.
I bought a Lite-ON LTR 12101B in France.
My firmware version is LS38.
BurnPoof works quite fine with nero but it doesnt't work with clonecd 3061.
I can't find firmware LS3G on lit-on's site.
I wonder if LS3G can fix this burn proof failure with clonecd.
Can anyone answer?

no it doesn't fix the the burnproof feature with clonecd

Many people was complaining about power calibration errors with the LS3G23, especially with early manufactured drives.

...ls38 , but liteon 12x should be of pio4 instead of udma mode2
& its performance not affected by its pio4, right?

as mentioned b4, latest ls3g bios cause problem on some mechine
but not all.
12102c is for another model of 12x ,not yours
