Lest's hope that the new Radeons will not be rebaged HD 5000 chips.. If their GPUs are still made using the 40nm, is there any way to offer any higher performance?

Well, TSMC is currently working on its 28nm manufacturing tech, skipping the 32nm. As a result, both AMD and its rival Nvidia will continue releasing 40nm GPUs at least for this year. This could benefit Nvidia, giving the company time to better compete with AMD, which was the first to come to the market with Direct X11 GPUs.
