Why would ASPI care what interface is used? If it did, it would not work for IDE drives... ASPI was used in SCSI and was adopted to support IDE, and I think it is universal now and can work over any I/O (well, some, but not all... Nero's WNASPI32.DLL works over IDE/SCSI/USB/IEE1394/SATA, I am pretty sure Adaptec's does not work with USB). RIPLOCK is enabled on the LG drive... I don't use it for ripping DVD's (painfully slow). My Plextor and the Pioneer (favorite for this task) handle it well. I was reluctant towards SATA for a long time, but think it works just as good for ODD as it does for HDD in todays PC's.
