If you at least have the serial number to the OEM install of Nero, you are entitled to a discounted full version of the latest Nero release.

There are free CD/DVD burning alternatives to Nero.  What kind of stuff did you do with Nero?  Perhaps I can offer a few suggestions.

Well, the only ones I know of that might help you is DeepBurner Free v1.8 (music and data) and ImgBurn (for DVD and CD Image Files).  I'll just say this, I use ImgBurn all the time and love it... I have never tried DeepBurner.

You may consider trying out ONES, but it cost a few bucks (but overall pretty inexpensive if you don't want to dish out the money for Nero).  There is a trial version available.

If you're in the U.S., Nero is on sale at Best Buy for 44.00 USD this week!

The version that came with your drive was "drive specific" this is why it didn't require a serial number, it had code written to read your drive information.

If you find a friend with a TDK drive, you can use his software, but otherwise you'll have to purchase it to use it now.
