Where I find the firmware v.1.01 ?

So far, I haven't seen it posted on the website.  I did purchase a drive that was manufactured in October 2006 that came with it on there, no way to extract it though.

You must have an engineering sample or something. Because I've installed three of these drives (can't find older ones!) and they are all rip locked. Even reading audio CDs is excruciatingly slow (roughly 2x !!!!)
 
Burning isn't great either. I have some good Fujis 16x here and this drive refuses to burn them at any other speed but 4x. All my other LGs burn them perfectly at 16X (works but I wouldn't trust it anyways ehehehe)
 
Detecting burnt disks and blanks and the rest is the same as other LG drives. Nothing to write home about, it just works.
 
Hopefully LG will bring out it's 1.0x firmware soon. Because the way it stands now the H22L is not a drive I can suggest to anyone. Unless they're regular Joes who don't rip CDs and DVDs to backup their collection.
 
BTW C2 reading is gone also. Might be important for some people.
 
Now I wonder what happened to change LG's mind and put back the locks ...

I purchased another of these drives today, however it only have firmware 1.00.

The drive rips Audio CD's at 48x

The drive burns Verbatim 16x DVD+R's at full 18x speed without any problems.

I ripped a 2h5m movie with the drive at 12x (Double Layer), it also ripped a single layer at 16x.  Perhaps something is wrong with the drive you have or your system setup. 

Neither drive I have is rip locked, not the 1.00 firmware or the 1.01 firmware.

Ok well here's an update ...
For some reason Nero 7.5 was refusing to write 16x on the H22L. Installed CDBurnerXP Pro 3 and forced 16x and works like a charm :)

Must be a combination of media/drive reporting wrong burn speed.

I was considering going back to Nero 6.6 anyways - 7 is just not mature enough for me (go figure!). This might resolve some of the issues.

As far as audio ripping is concerned I haven't finished testing yet. I am currently using CDEX and I'm not sure I want to use anything else. Configuring FLAC was a pain in the derriere but now it works perfectly.

Finally I haven't tested DVD ripping yet either. Just too busy. I assume it's going to work OK ... if not then I'll just have to wait for firmware 1.01.

Hi All 

Just checking in to see if there is any update on the 1.01 version firmware for the H22L of yet. I was hoping some of you members from Japan may have a direct link or something as its still not on any of the european sites..
