I was wondering if the Chip that is installed in the new Ps2 Silver can play backup games...?

There is no mod chip installed in a silver PS2 unless you put one there..

If you do, yes you can play backups.

well... in my country a Ps2 silver includes a DMS3 v2.0-chip... that's why i am confused

Then where you are, if it comes modded already, then it comes with absolutely "no warranty" as well. As for the chip, I am not sure, as I have no experience with this particular model.

Hi alfie and Welcome to Our Forum !!!

Sony do not send out any PS2's in any country with a mod chip fitted but in Most places all over the world you can buy a PS2 with a mod chip fitted but it is from a dealer not Sony and as MP3Mogul has already said it comes with absolutely "no warranty" from Sony but it may come with a warranty from the Company who fit the mod chip so I suggest you check with the dealer before you purchase one !!!

dms3 v2 a good chip if its installed get it it's bullet proof right and these chips are hard to install as well 23 wires to install i say get one and with the warranty you can stick them back on with a very thin srip of super glue i did and my ps2 broke i dropped it on the floor and i used my warraty and got a new ps2 anyway no lie

thx for the help guys... figured it out now...
the shop has chipped the ps2 and it comes with a lifetime varenty on the chip :)

No Problem alfie that is what we are here for but one last thought warranty on the mod chip is fine but what about warranty on the rest of the PS2 ie the DVD Rom [?]
