I'm having trouble burning my videos to dvds. I'm using Nero Startsmart to burn them. I was told I needed to convert them so I got Divxtodvd. I conveted them got these files.

VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB

I tried burning these files and a message came up that read:"DVD-Video file compliance test failed. The resulting DVD-Video might be unplayable."

Now I have no idea what to do. Someody please help me!

It sounds like the files are incompatible.  I suggest using NeroVision to convert them.

What was the original source file format?

I got this problem for a while, but the solution is actually pretty simple!
Create 2 new folders named:
VIDEO_TS    (and)     AUDIO_TS

Place ALL your initial created files (.vobs,.ifo's,.bup's etc) in the VIDEO_TS folder. Leave the AUDIO_TS folder completely empty.

So when adding folders in nero, click and drag to select both folders in the window to add them. And voila! compliance fine.

Basically dvd players look for these two files on the DVD when loaded. U may find that ur previous 'non-compliant' DVD works anyway if u have a friendly DVD player.

This should do the trick

Cheers

I thought you would have done this originally, since .vob's cannot be placed directly in the root directory of a DVD-Video compliant disc, as you have found, need those two folders.
