Below is a link to firmware 1.01 for the LG-GSA 2166D. This is provided for users who received their drives with factory firmware 1.00.

Firmware 1.02 is coming soon!

I see that you already have the LG GSA-2166D Firm 1.02 on your drive.. :)

I can not find this firmware ...can you send it to me via PM ?

Is this a Beta Firm?

PM Sent. No, it's not a beta firmware, it's a regular firmware.

It seems that LG is following the "LiteOn" pattern of stuffing new drives down their customers throats every time the sun comes up, and forgetting all about the drives they manufactured 2 months or more ago... which is really a shame..... because alot of people purchased those drives...

Hi MP3Mogul,
can you PM me that firmware, or post a link to download it please?

Because I'm having problems writing to DVD+Rs, and can't find a download for v1.02

Oops.

I "upgraded" my 2166D to version 1.02, and now it makes a lot more coasters than it used to. (It used to behave flawlessly; I should've observed the "if it ain't broke..." rule.)

So I want to revert it back to 1.01. But when I invoke the 1.01 firmware loader, it tells me "Lower or same firmware version!" and refuses to load the firmware.

How can I force it to accept an "upgrade" to the older firmware?
