Having problems getting winoncd 3.8 to work on xp. An error retrieving the scsi/ide bus comes up followed by the message recording engine error. Looked on winoncd website but no updates for xp on their.

Can anyone help?

Roxio.de website says WOC 5 will be out soon supporting XP. You can already order an upgrade.
I haven't upgraded to XP yet, but I guess the problem is the low level drivers for CD-R device access. Maybe there will be a driver update, as they used to have when Win 2K arrived.

Apply the latest Service Pack 2, latest driver update and set Windows 2000 compatibility mode for WinOnCD 3.8 Power Edition. It worked for me when I was testing my SCSI burner in Windows XP. Now I'm back on Win2K since it's more compatible, faster and reliable.

If you don't have the Power Edition, all you can do is to apply the possible driver update for your burner and set Win2K compatibility mode.

Roxio.de website now says they will post an XP patch soon for WOC 3.8.
Anyway you will have to uninstall WOC before upgrading to XP.
I will still wait with upgrading to XP. I expect lots of issues with software and hardware drivers, which I would like to see settling down before migrating.
