Im new to this forum so, please excuse my rudeness if I posted in the wrong place, but if you could help me with my problem, I would be very thankfull! I have Lite on DVD burner, and I have made several backups of my ps2 games. I have tried several types of media: Verbatim, TDK, Memorex, and Maxwell. But, the only successful game that I could do that I found had no flaws in it was DDR MAX, which is a fairly smaller image file when compared to some of my other games. (1.15 GB!) But, the other games would play for a while, and then corrupt later. (the decay was only associated with TDK media, not any of the others)But, all of the media seemed to have trouble when it came to the movies. They all seem to skip, and most have very slow load times. I use the latest version of nero, straight from the site. :) Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

PS. I have a (sony vaio) P4, 2.4 GHZ, 512 Megs of ram, and other goodies, but that woudln't pertain to this question. :)

Hi theheteroclite, welcome to our forum!

What kind of LiteON DVD burner do you have? Is it the LiteON LDW-401s, the LDW-411s, or the LDW-811s?

Are you running the latest firmware?

I suggest going out and buying some 4x DVD+R media, (personally use unbranded Ritek/Ricoh DVD+Rs or Maxell DVD+Rs), and burning it at 2.4x. You will most likely find the best burning results when you do this. Another option would be to hunt down some REALLY good quality media, like Taiyo Yuden DVD+Rs and try those, but that is very hard to find in a lot of cases.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

Dolphin the +R Media is not the best for the PS2 I have seen loads of problems with them just have a look around and you will see for yourself !!!
So theheteroclite try some 4x Ritek -R Media that is if your Writer supports -R as you have not told us which Liteon you have !!!

Well, if he's running off of the LiteON LDW-401s or LDW-411s, then it is VERY unlikely that a DVD-R will work, even if the PS2 like DVD-Rs more then DVD+Rs, and I'm speaking from experience here

I don't know if the LiteON LDW-811s can burn DVD-Rs properly or not though...

:( oh no... don't tell me that. I have a LDW-411S. But, yeah... the only dvd's that I got to play were dvd-r's. Btw, how do I go about making sure it's up to date with the latest firmware?
