Sorry to post off topic, but I'm excited as heck.  Grew up about 50 miles south of Comiskey Park... I've been a White Sox fan as far back as I can remember.  Never thought I would see this day.  I hope I can get some sleep tonight!!!!

Congrats.  They definitely earned it, no doubt about that.  What was mind-boggling was the lack of offense from Houston.

Maybe I just picked up on it because I'm a Yankees fan, but did anyone else notice how many times the announcers talked about the Yankees? 
Ex:  When Lidge & Jenks blew the saves they said, "it really shows you how good Mo Rivera is..."
       Then they brought up the stat for the last time a WS game was won 1-0, in 1996 in game 6 when Pettitte threw a gem...

BTW, Joe Buck & Tim McCarver (FOX's announcers) are the worst...Mr. Monotone and Mr. Incoherent...

Should be an interesting off-season...see you in 2006!

Agreed.  They are pro NL and it was obvious.  They wouldn't shut up about the bad calls that went in the Sox favor.  It's part of the game and this year, the Sox were so focused it wouldn't have mattered.  They hardly mentioned the called HR by Lane that was not a home run.  Bad calls are part of the human/team game.

Nothing mind-boggling about it at all.  Great pitching and defense.  Did you see Joe Crede?  He should have been the MVP.  Nothing against Dye, he hit well, but so did Crede.  The difference was the defense.  He stopped a few good shots that would have been doubles and turned them into outs or double-plays.  Excellent player and he'll be noticed now after national exposure and will be offered a big contract (from the Sox, I hope) when he becomes a free agent.
