Hi,
I would like to know if DVD video files recorded on DVD-Rs will be erased at some point in time? If yes, how long will the files last and what is the cause of this loss?
Thanks.

It firstly depends on the media quality and the writing quality. You are talking something like ageing tests on media.

The bad thing with media is that a single error will make the whole disc unreadable.

Longetivity is an interesting subject, which has many difficult aspects to discuss, but in general, the lower recording speed, the best quality media, the best storage method, will ensure the less changes to getting a bad , unreadable , disc
