I finally became bold enough to install my new NEC DVDRW 3520a today, and it wiped out the Linksys ethernet software evidently.

When I restarted the PC I received 2 "new hardware detected notices--one for NEC and one for the ethernet card.

The DVD works fine, but I can't go online using DSL. I got out my CD etherfast pci adapter LNE100TX setup wizard CD, but the setup wizard doesn't seem to recognize it. It wants to go online so with this dialup connection, it looks like it is searching online, but then the window flies up saying it cannot install it.

Please help me as I value my DSL connection more than the DVD drive.
