I found out that InCD 4x is very buggy. I get CPU Load at 100%
after installation and a VxD VFAT crash in VxD voltrack(04)
all the time when I access 2nd IDE Port where the DVD Writer
sits on. Deinstallation is also buggy. Some leftover crashes my
system so I had to reboot in secure mode.
All this is reproducable. [xx(]
With InCD 35420 I even can read my InCD formatted CDs but the
NEC 1300A seems not be included. Formating doesn't work.
SO I have to wait for a solution I think

I'm in the same boat. I have a Buslink 52x24x52 CD-RW that is really an AOpen 52x24x52. I've updated the firmware to 1.07, but just like you said, InCD 4 crashes with a blue screen message... and the latest InCD 3 will read UDF discs but can't seem to format them successfully. Even before upgrading the firmware, InCD didn't work.

Pretty weak on Ahead's part, I'd say, given that Nero software was bundled with the drive! (Fortunately, Burning ROM works without a hitch... it's just InCD that's a dud.)

InCD 4 is working with AOpen 52x24x52 (I've got one running just here) meaning that the problem is not due to an incompability with the drive itself. If you have a VIA Chipset, I suggest to try an update from the motherboard drivers. If not, can you describe your computer configuration?

I have a SiS 735 chipset on my motherboard and I've kept all the drivers up-to-date. I have Windows 98 SE. My IDE devices are a Maxtor hard drive (primary master), a Toshiba DVD-ROM (primary slave), a Western Digital hard drive (secondary master), and my AOpen CD-RW (secondary slave). I'm getting "exception OE in 0028:00770076, called from 0028:C1C25A00 in VxD voltrack(04) + 00000430" as soon as I click on the CD-RW drive in Windows Explorer. Since I've seen reports of the same error on this forum, I'm assuming it's just a matter of waiting for a bug fix... am I right?

Tech support has suggested I try closing my anti-virus program (PC 'Cillin 2000). I'm doubtful it will make any difference, but when I get a chance I'll give it a try.

Seems like the CD-RW drive should work, given that the 1.07 firmware update mentions InCD 4 by name... but currently it is not. I'm guessing it's because I have Win98 SE and not Win XP. Please keep me informed... any ETA on the next update/patch for InCD?

I can confirm that closing my anti-virus doesn't help. I get the blue screen error as soon as I double-click on My Computer. The only remedy at that point is a reboot and an uninstall of InCD 4. [:(!]

Huston we still have a problem.
Well I've done an update to the via 4in1 driver, but it still
doesn't help.
It could be my configuration but I got the problem only with
InCD 401X. So the answer to the always valid question :

Then re-install InCD 4? As InCD is including UDF-reading capabilities, you should not need BHA's UDF reader anymore, and usually several UDF filesystems on the same OS have trouble to work together.
