We have reviewed 2x6600 cards and compared results with a 6800GT, i think the 2x6600 might be better than 1x6800GT, and of course don't forget that new cards arriving with 2 chipsets at one board

Keep in mind that in two years from now you'll get a new graphics card(s) in order to play games based on unreal engine 3.
I doubt 2x6600 can handle the graphics of UE3.
The 6800Ultra is the only one supposed to run the game in "acceptable" framerates and probably at 800x600.
Maybe getting an SLI 6800GT and another one later would be a better solution.

new gen games will always require new gen hardware... this has always been the true but these days big corps can get away with more... new games will require more and more processing power and will make last gen hardware more and more inappropriate. and new hardware costs more than ever. i say get a card that suits you now and when you need to upgrade just make sure u send me your old card
