I am quite disappointed to see no Taiyo Yuden / Mitsubishi Chem. CD-R media C1/C2 scans... No wonder you get such disappointing results, you need to test with the premium media(s) to achieve a fair perspective of what the drive is capable of. Maybe you won't see a big 'F' on the Clover Sys. exams, then

Also, media ID codes for the recorded +/-R media in the PlexTools Pro scans section would be of much appreciation to the audience as they would then know of the exact media, for comparitive reasons.

Thanks

Yes, I can see, a good decision since we really must wait for the 1.05 firmware and maybe(?) TLA#03XX (fourth) harware revision to really see the PX-716 series recording at full potential..

Can you please post a Clover Systems CDX Compact Disc Analyzer scan with TY 52X @ 48X with the PX-716A, firmware 1.03 and/or 1c04?

These results would be very interesting for users who would use the 716 to record CD-R's (i.e. myself ) especially the beta firmware 04, since it produces the best (smoothest curve) 16X +R writing out of any of the firmware's previously released, which indicates that Plextor are trying...

Yes I can do it but I'll need a little time for this.

Do you need a lower speed too?

Thanks! Lower speed ie 8X/16X only if you find the time! Also minos, do you know what I am talking about regarding the PlexTools Pro scans and media ID codes? Since many manufacturers often have several types of media sold under the same speed rating/packaging.

@ Clint

Click here for the new page.

I managed to measure the Jitter only for 8X and 16X, with TY media. CDX however measured them all.

Thank you, much better results, 3 A's isn't bad for a beta firmware.. I wonder what the results would be for a TY 52X CD-R, @ 48X PX-716A v1.04/5 when released, now...
