Guys,

my hardware is as follows - Plextor PX-W124TS and Plextor UltraPleX PX-40TS SCSI CD-ROM. I believe both drives have the latest firmware upgrades that Plextor made for them

A long time ago I attempted to backup my copy of GTA3 for the PC (using Clone CD V4)and the copy wouldn't run, it kept prompting for disc 2, even though my copy was inserted, only putting the original back in allowed the game to work. A friend recently did a back up of this game using his Liteon CDRW and it worked fine. He said this game was 'safedisk' protected.

Can my hardware copy a game of this type, if so what software/settings should be used?
Also do if my hardware can copy this game, what firmware should the drives be using?

Thanks

Thanks for the info. Can my hardware handle burning Safedisk protected software?

Minos is correct, it is protected with SD 2.51.021. However, your Plextor PX-W124TS is a 0-sheep drive and cannot handle this protection without help. Your best bet is to use the CloneCD 2 + EWS profile found HERE. Keep in mind that your will need some form of software running to hide ATIP info if you plan on playing the game from the burner.
