ROFL, If what they say is true, 40125S has the same hardware as 48125W. Does that mean you can also turn it into a 48x?

No it doesn't and no you cannot OC it to a 48X unless they manage to find a Lite-On OEM 48X series "3" chipset 48X f/w.....

And yes it works... Note that you can't update it with 'normal' 40125S firmware from Lite-ON IT website.
