What do you mean by perfect copys?
Does this mean you can play them with out Hide media switched on?
Or does this mean you can play with hide media on?(wich is not a perfect copy).
What setting's are you using?
And are you saying you have copyed SD 2.5?
Can you play them in a cd writer????

It's Stella time. Hik!

as long as the cdrom/dvd does not read the atip, which most older ones won't then the backups should be playable in any of them, as long as the copy is good....

kamikazee is right the ATIP check ruins your theory remember that the copies are cdr, even after burned they still have ATIP wich the original don't so they will play EVERYERE

HELLO ALL...
IN MY FIRST EVER LISTING IN A FORUM Posted - 04/28/2002 : 08:43:52 I STATED THE FOLLOWING SENTENCE!!!.............................

..HAVE USED THE NEW CCD 4.0 BETA 30 ON 61 OF THE LATEST GAMES FOR BACKUPS AND THEY ALL WORK PERFECTLY, PLAYBACK, EVEN ON OLD 4X CDROMS

I HAVE NEVER SAID "PERFECT COPY" ANYWHERE... BUT I DID SAY (EG)
THE BACKUPS PLAY PERFECTLY... [SOME DIFERENCE] FROM "PERFECT COPY"..

AND,THATS ALL I WANT FROM CLONECD ... THE ABILITY TO BACKUP
COPY PROTECTED CD GAMES THAT I OWN,FOR MYSELF AND MY CHILDREN...

THATS THE WHOLE POINT ISN,T IT [BACKUP] / NOT PIRACY.? FOR SALE../
AND IF THEY INSTALL FINE AND UPGRADE FINE, THEN CCD DOES THE
JOB THAT I, AS A LEGAL REGISTERED USER OF THE SOFTWARE PROGRAM CLONECD WANT .................WROOKIE WADYA SAY ?

REGARDS dbd

You are correct. You should be able to backup and keep for your own use any CD that you buy. Unfortunately, with the new copy protections coming up, this may not be possible. We need to find a way to guarantee that people can make archival copies without forfeiting the right of companies to protect their interests and investment. It is a difficult issue.

I think what some people are reacting to here and on other boards when they see the term "perfect copy" is the unreal expectation that some people have about the plex. It is a great burner. It just doesn't make copies of protected cds that work in every reader. However, if it works for the readers that you own, then it really doesn't matter whether it is "perfect" or not.
