Hi...

Don't have any resources... But I've got an idea...

I had Yasmaha CRW4416E... It was 4/4/16 burner... Now, when I tested it in Nero CD Speed, the read-speed was 16 from the middle of the drive, so it seems like it could go to 24X CAV!

Tried hacking the firmware with hex-editor, but I'm to unexperienced, so I didn't found nothing... :(

So, I'm looking for resources too... :)

Don't mess with your drive's capabilities unless you REALLY know the drive can do it, for the reading speed you shouldn't have any big problems but for the writting you can have REALLY BIG problems, unless you are an expert and understand a lot of writting stategies

Look at the overclockers.com forum, in General Hardware section...

There is one guy who done such things... My point of interest is electronically-based tweaking, and I've found something regarding this on google newsgroups repository...
