i know how to format and install windows xp pro by booting to the cd
however i dont wish to install an operating system i only want to wipe the drive.

cant remember seeing an option to just format a drive from booting

any help on just wiping the drive appreciated.

Just go to :-
http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm
and download the Windows 98 Boot Disk and then boot from it and format your hard-disk and that is all you have to do !!!

For all the hoohah about "secure deletion", if you zero-fill a drive once, the data is beyond anything other than theoretically possible forensic recovery, and certainly beyond user-tool recovery.

Now I am getting annoyed!
Those ****ing parasites - "Evidence Eraser" - have got themselves a TON of domain names, and spammed the hell out of the search engines.

Never EVER buy Evidence Eraser!

BCWipe IS freeware, and they advertise some other products on the page - fair's fair - and I's much rather deal twith them for those other products, than the miserable jerks behind Evidence Eliminator.
