I've been running TDB's NEC ND-2510A firmware 2.F8 on my Dell's NEC ND-2100A DVD+RW. All has been great with DVD-R writing so far.
The only thing that I don't like is the bitsetting of the MadDog firmwares. I would like to rewrite the booktype on my DVD+RW's with each burn (for testing backups in various DVD players). I used TDB's firmware 1.31 from the HP 420n but I would like to have the latest writing strategies...like in the 1.33.
Can I use the firmware from here:
http://www.micheldeboer.nl/firmware/ND2510A_133.rar Does it really require the 2100@2500 patch if I flash it from DOS using binflash or even TDB's flasher? I just don't want to mess up the drive if that 2100@2500 patch is doing something special other than allowing the firmware to be flashed.
