Hi All

Im new to this site and have found most of the topics quite interesting

I need some help with my NEC ND2500A.

I have read some previous messages and believe that it is possible to make this drive into a Dual Layer drive by using Firmware, is the right and if so where can I get the download to do this?

Also it is possible to speed up this drive in any way??

Any help is much appreciated

Yes indeed, you can convert your 2500 to a 2510. The DL will be supported. The 8X for recordable media will be remain.

Can you tell me what the best type of DVDR is to use with this Drive, so I can get the best speed and quality?

I had this drive for a couple of months. I used to burn Taiyo Yuden DVD-R 4X media. No problem at all. Even now the media are still playable.
