Hey all, I have a Toshiba XM-6401TA 40x SCSI CD-Rom. The host adapter is an Adaptec 2940U2W. Over on a firmware board I download a newer firmware for the thing, but am having trouble flashing.

I have the Toshiba flash program and the hex file for the upgrade. I boot the machine off a DOS boot disk and issue the command, I get an error telling me I have to load ASPI drivers.

I go to Adaptec's web page and get the ASPI drivers for DOS. I put them in a config.sys file on the floppy and try again. Different error messages this time, still no flash. Do I need to also load MSCDEX?

Do I need to unhook the CD/RW and hard drive from the host adapter, leaving only the CD-ROM hooked up to do this?

Any ideas?

thanks in advance.
