Hey guys,
What your thoughts on this drive?I had the HP DVD740i which was very good.I'am just seeking some advise here. Before, just jumping in with both feet.LOL.............Well,one foot;I had my left one taken off.

Or tell me this;is there any other better dvd drive with a better lightscribe?Knowing that HP was the company that helped innovate lightscribe technology.

But,from what I've read this unit is a Lite-on.With HP on it.I've already got a Lite-on now.A LH-20A1P.I'am seeking something different;by someone different.

HP does not make their own drives... It probably is a LITEY.

I mean no offense, but you are really struggling with what to buy.  What is it you wish to do with this burner?  Perhaps if I had a clear understanding of what you need from it  I, and hopefully others, can provide an opinion.

Okay,I'am seeking real burners. This will be my very last upgrade for my PC.I'am a very ill diabetic with testiculat cancer. And can't live on my own any more now. So,on August 9th,2007 my doctor is placing me into a nursing home.I'll still have my pc and internet. But,once I go there;I'll have no more income.See,so I'am trying to bump up my system now;while I have the cash.

My Antec 900 case will hold 3 burners. So,I want three good burners.
Did,I explain my situation clearly to you now?
Any suggestions;now that I clearly explained myself now?

There have been reports that you may still be able to obtain a Plextor PX-760A at microcenter.com.

Yeah, probably the best based on your rig.  Not insulting your rig at all... The PC I just retired to my kids is an AMD X2 3800+ on an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe.  USB2 is likely the best option for you there... True Plextors are rare... Get a Pioneer or LG in an external if that is what you are leaning at and keep the two you have in your PC... Just buy good Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden media and those mediatek based drives should be fine..
