I've been using InstantWrite with DVD-RW and there are 2 options: Quick Format and Full Format

now i bought a new Pioneer 107 (DVD +/- RW)
I put in a DVD+RW 4x and this only offers Quick Format;
when i put in a 2x DVD-RW, I still get both Format options.

can anyone confirm that DVD+RW only uses the Quick Format?

can anyone briefly explain the pros/cons of using the 2 formats?

i know a little, but only from piecemealing the manuals from the old VOB days with the completely useless new ones from Pinnacle

sorry about the confusion
in Nero, the erase feature for both is available,like you say.
what i'm talking about is the presence of 2 modes of formatting which are available in
Pinnacle (formerly VOB) InstantWrite

Why dont you use Nero for your copying tasks
Nero is by far better than Pinnale and works for you too

I confirm that on the device-level a DVD+RW can only be background formatted. At software level you can emulate a "full" format by initiating a background format then waiting for background format to complete.
