I just got a new mouse to replace a Microsoft one I used to have. The new one is a Logitect Cordless Optical mouse.

The Microsoft mouse I had, in home and office, drove me crazy. The pointer was moving by itselt and when I was working suddenly it was disappear and found at the corners.

The Logitech is totaly different, recommented for sure. Stay away from Microsoft products.

Which one, the basic "Pilot" - got one of those as part of an OEM Cordless desk set - it's been ages since I had anything as basic as a 2+ wheel though...
It's a bizarre "no sleep" system, where the sensor/illumination pulses at 2 per second at the lowest level, so unlike many, it doesn't need a click to wake it - but I'd recommend rotation a couple of sets of NiMH, as with AA Alkalines, it only lasts about a month - not quite as long on rechargeables, but a lot longer than AAA equipped ones last.

The various Taiwan and Chinese ones seem to be just as good, at least until you hit the super de-luxe models - don't know why companies like Logitech bother doing cheap/OEM models, or why any supplier uses them, as they don't do it well!

The "Pilot" model is not bad, just basic!
The only problem I've noticed, is that the RF link can deadspot quite easily - it doesn't need much metal around to kill it.
