DVD writing error

Installed LiteOn SOHW-1633S 16x DVD+/-RW, it was working for a while.
Suddenly I was not able to write, the burner does the reading fine but when it gets to the writing stage and asks for a blank DVD, it does not recognize it, the Start button on my software does not activate. I used a variety of blank DVDs ( R & RW) with no luck.

I have 3 software installed Nero6, I Copy DVD and Platinum DVD, I tried the three of them and none of them seems to do the Job, I use windows XP

Would you please help

Do you have windows IMAPI burning software enabled? If so disable it. Also what other burning applications do you have installed, there could be a conflict.
