I tried to update the LG GCE-8400B to 8480 with the fireware 1.03 for 8480 . cz the original flash tool JE4 doesn't work on different version of CD-RW , so I choose the mtkflash1.62 for the update .

Recorded the fireware & mtkflash onto a CD-RW and then I reset into the DOS mode . ran mtkflash "mtkflash 4 w JE6LGD06.HEX" , everyting seems run well and the flash tool worked from bank 0 to 9 then reported "Please reboot PC" . But after reset , it cannot find the CD-RW during the self-test , also in XP there is no CD-RW drive .

I returned back to the real DOS mode and tried to use mtkflash to restore the fireware which I downloaded from the website , mtkflash finished the work but the PC still cannot find the CDRW drive . Then I tried the LG's original flash tools from JE3 to JE6 , but it reported "Drive not avilable" . The CDRW still cannot work now .

BTW: I analysed the bat file that comes from mtkflash named "upgrade.bat" , it first backup the fireware use the command "mtkflash X r /a0 /b back00.bin" and "mtkflash X r /a1 /b back01.bin" and then turn into the upgrade process with the command "mtkflash X w /a0 /b bide00.bin" and "mtkflash X w /a1 /b bide01.bin" . I tried to use the command as the upgrade.bat gave me , but it also dosen't work .

I've searched via the internet and found out that the GCE-8320 to GCE 8480 seems use the same chips , and 8320 can update to 8400 use the *****ed fireware , why 8400 cannot :(
