I've read all the posts in this area and while I've been aware of packet writing, I've never used it in the past.

With my new CD-RW drive and InCD I tried it out and everything worked after finding the right media. My question: most of the posts here are from people having problems. Is packet writing stable enough to trust for backing up material. As I scan old family photos, it would be very convenient to store them in yearly directories which I could add to on a regular basis.

If packet writing isn't appropriate, what other method would anyone suggest?

Better trying normal DAO writing, much safer!

packet writing is more for computer to computer transfers (like a floppy disk). But I wouldn't suggest putting anything important onto a packet written disc. There is always the possibility that later on the software you want to install will not read that format [xx(]

I generally do multi-sessions on a CDRW until i've saved up enough files/MB and then burn everything again to a CDR.

Thanks for the help. I tried multisession and it works great. Exactly what I was looking for.
