Got tired of incd crashing on bootup, so I installed the newest version of directcd with all the patches.

Everything worked ok, unitl I wrote a few directories and then went to delete a directory. The directory contained about 50 files, but instead of disappearing upon deletion, i received an error message: "Cannot remove folder [foldernamehere]: the directory is not empty."

By clicking on the folder, i realized that directcd forgot to delete the first file in the directory. I attempted deleting this file manually (which seemed to work), but as soon as I tried to delete the directory, I got the same error message. By looking at the directory contents, the single file (previously deleted) miraculously was back.

I've tried reinserting the cd, but same problem every time. Anybody have any ideas on how I can solve this problem (without the obvious reformatting of the CD)?

I'm using a Plextor 12/10/32A with TayoYuden 10X CDRW, WinXP Pro SP1, 512RAM, Abit BX133-RAID mobo, Quantum 60GB RAID-0.

Has anyone found a fix for this? Is this a "bad" cdrw?

Is your cdrw drive attached to the RAID controller? If it is, move it back to thr regular IDE controller on your motherboard.

I agree with Michael Lee that your problem might be solved by changing the IDE configuration, and perhaps IDE drivers (e.g., you could try the native XP drivers).

However, any fix for DirectCD might work for InCD as well. So if you wished to reconsider using InCD, you could take a look at the guide

Barring chipset drivers problems, there is no reason why InCD shouldn't work for you.
