Hi Again minos !!!

Well now you have the Latest Nero installed that makes things very easy just go to the Start menu and select Nero Toolkit and open Nero InfoTool and that will tell you everything you need to know about your Writer including what version of Firmware you are using !!!

When you open the Info Tool it automatically opens in Drive Section go to the top and select Your drive and then just under the Tabs you will see Firmware Version and next to it there will be some Numbers and Letters and that is what Version of the Firmware you are using !!!

I would like to get the latest firmware for the ujda710 as well. The current version I have is 1.50.

I think he is saying he must be logged on as "Administrator" to have correct permissions to run it.

Minos,

unless you are able to LOG on as administrator, you will not be able to determine the current firmware in the drive's BIOS using Nero, and we will be unable to lead you to any firmware upgrade, because we have no idea what current version you have. Perhaps this is an issue you should take up with the university, merely inform them you are desirous in obtaining a new firmware for the drive if available.

Also, if something should go wrong during the flash (hopefully it would not) would the university be upset?
