Interesting questions about CeQuadrat

Interesting questions about CeQuadrat

General Interest Jul 11,1999 0

"..Currently there are no changes as far as support or engineering development. If anything, both will increase for CeQuadrat products in the near-term. In the near term, there will be no changes. We do not know if there will be any major changes in the future. Yes, there will be continued support for all CeQuadrat products.."

"..As for DVD development, you know that there are still competing camps working on different specs. As a software company, we are trying to look at which, or both, to support. We already have a DVD-ROM product, and a DVD-Video product is forthcoming. But I really don't know what else is happening, which side is going to win out, or the best is if everyone would just agree on a standard.."

SuperVCD which is Mpeg 2 and has DVD quality. Will WinOnCD add this new format into coming releases? Also many people ask if WinOnCD will add the overburn capability../B>

"..SVCD is a standard intended for the China market, because the industry didn't think they'd be ready to move to DVD yet. It is not something generally available in this country.

We've partnered with C-Cube for the Chinese SVCD project, as I said. But we're not marketing that. And at least in the US, i'm seeing DVD-Recorders that will be available by this Christmas retailing for under $800, and rewriteable media for under $30. There's really no reason for the SVCD. Or even if MPEG-2 is a good reason, there's not much of a market for it here.

As for overburn, if you were to get a hold of some of those 80-minute CD-Rs, WinOnCD will work with them, no problems.." NULL
