Primera Technology introduces Composer Optical Disc Duplicator

Primera Technology introduces Composer Optical Disc Duplicator

General Interest Nov 8,2000 0

"...Composer is a low-cost, turnkey duplication system that can be configured for either CD-R or DVD-R. It duplicates and optionally prints up to 50 discs per job from any Windows-based PC. After a duplication job has been started, the process is automatic and no further operator intervention is necessary.

A "pick-and-place" robotic arm transports discs from an input tray to the integrated CD-R or DVD-R recorder. After recording, the disc is transported to an optional Primera Technology ink-jet or thermal optical disc printer where it is printed and then stacked in a 50-disc output tray. Composer’s patent-pending picking mechanism is exceptionally reliable and is designed specifically for unattended use. Composer comes equipped with either PrimoCD Pro or PrimoDVD.

Two Composer models are available:
- The Composer CD-R Optical Disc Duplicator with a Plextor 12x CD-R recorder and PrimoCD Pro software is priced at US$2495. - The Composer DVD-R Optical Disc Duplicator with a Pioneer DVD-R recorder and PrimoDVD software sells for US$9995.

Adding a Primera Technology CD printer to Composer is as easy as plugging in a few cables and loading printer driver software. The optional Signature III CD Color Printer sells for US$1495 and the Inscripta Thermal CD Printer sells for US$2995.

A related product, based upon the same disc transport mechanism but with no CD-R or DVD-R recorder, is called the Conductor Printer Autoloader. Priced at US$1495, the Conductor automatically loads blank or recorded optical discs into and out of a Primera Technology Signature III or Inscripta printer. Conductor may be factory upgraded to a Composer CD-R Duplicator for US$999..." NULL
