NVIDIA Tests The "GeForce Experience" PC Game Optimizer

NVIDIA Tests The "GeForce Experience" PC Game Optimizer

GPUs Dec 7,2012 0

Nvidia has begun closed Beta testing of the "GeForce Experience" , an application that optimizes graphics settings in your games based on your hardware and also keeps your PC always updated to the latest drivers. The application automatically notifies you of new NVIDIA drivers and downloads them for you. In addition, it optimizes graphics settings in your games based on your hardware configuration. NVIDIA performs game testing for various combinations of GPUs, CPUs, and monitor resolutions and stores this information in the NVIDIA cloud. GeForce Experience connects to the NVIDIA Cloud and downloads optimized game settings tailored specifically to your PC.

The "GeForce Experience" service is released in beta version and is limited to the first 10,000 users who register on a first-come, first-served basis.

Currently, GeForce Experience supports WIndows 8/7/Vista OS, 32 games on graphic cards that feature Kepler and Fermi GPUs.

When the "GeForce Experience" is installed, the software creates the UpdatusUser account. This account runs the NVIDIA Update service for updating drivers and application profiles through the NVIDIA server.

Nvidia says that the software does not collect any personally identifiable information, altough it collects data including hardware configuration, operating system, language, installed games, game settings, game usage, game performance, and current driver version. NVIDIA may also share aggregate-level data with 'select' partners, but does not share user level data.
